See the nationally important items of the Gibbes Museum of Art and outstanding Colonial china, silver, and furniture (much of it made in Charleston, including what Antiques Traveling Road Show calls the greatest piece of furniture ever made in America) from the Charleston Museum's (America's first museum) collection in the Heyward-Washington House, home of signer of the Declaration of Independence and residence of President Washington in May of 1791.
